Swing and A Miss... St. Mike's Next to Fall

Third Team This Year to go Scoreless Against High Flying Panthers

OK. Bad metaphor. And yeah, I was incorrect in the last post that the St. Mike's match would NOT be a smackdown rerun that continued last week's Babson rout. Based on last year's game I thought St. Mike's would have more to show the Panthers -I didn't do enough research on that prediction. That, and the basic rule that 'what happened last year' assessments are often a bad predictor of... just about anything.

But what else can you say with Middlebury 57-0 win last Saturday at St. Mike's? Beautiful weather -again. Well executed team play -again. Competition that is unable to score -again.

Signora Ellen was back on the sidelines with the white lenses and, as you can see, captured some fine action shots.

To be so close must have been a real frustrating situation for St. Mike's - I believe Tommy Heitkamp's feet are in the end zone in the above picture. Support on tackle offered by unknown Midd defender. More to follow.

Next Game:
MCRC, the Division II College #1 seed starts post-season play on Saturday, October 21 at Middlebury against the #8 seed Boston University Terriers. Game time is 2:00pm. Middlebury stomped BU at BU's Nickerson Field in their first meeting this year. See that post here.
