In a blustery rainstorm the NERFU Division II Men’s Collegiate #4 seed University of Vermont Men’s Rugby Club and the #1 seed Middlebury College Rugby Club faced off in the first match of the New England Union's Semi-Finals action today.

Playing with renewed focus and intensity following their first meeting with UVM three weeks ago (see post here), MCRC took command early and didn’t look back with Middlebury scoring first on a try by Pat Mott, '07. Final score: 31 – 7. With the win, Middlebury advances to tomorrow’s Championship match at 1:00pm.

In today's second semi-final match the #2 seed US Coast Guard Academy defeated the #3 seed University of Maine – Orono squad 21-7 (unofficial) to advance to Sunday’s Championship match with Middlebury. UMaine faces UVM in tomorrow's Consolation Match at 11:00am.

NO report yet on today’s Women's Quarterfinal Division III match between MCRC and Bryant College.
